Short story: No title or registration in hand. But nobody really expected it to be that easy.
DMV is always crowded, but the appointment system works really well. Why don’t all these people make appointments?
I need a brake and light certification from a qualified shop, and a VIN verification from CHP. The next appointment for that is 9/28, which will be torture for my son.
But we are getting closer to having this beast titled, registered, and insured.
As an aside, I am going to have my son check the fuses. A number of electrical items do not work, and I think that makes sense as a starting point.

I had to do the bonded title dance with my Land Rover, due to its title having disappeared in Somewhere, Wisconsin about twenty years before I even started on it. Went pretty smoothly, actually.

Why not make an appointment? I had to renew my license in person and the next available appointment at any location within 30 miles was more than two weeks out. That was any time available, not even a coveted early morning where you can go before or show up a little late to work.

If it’s not fuses, check grounds.
Good luck with the title!
